I took this in Montana from horse back so I was only using a little handheld digital camera. Just wanted to receive feed back on it now that I have a new DSLR and will likely be taking many action shots with it. Any and all feedback on the photo compostion, etc. will be greatly appreciated.

the color and exposure in this image are beautiful.....especially since you were able to still retain some detail in that dark colored cow/cattle/bull/i was raised in the suburbs/thing.....

the cropping is awkward.....the horizon could benefit from a clockwise rotation to level it out and the main subjects feel to high in the frame...

nice image....

Indeed a nice image, Im impressed you managed to take a picture and stay on the horse! I wouldnt even get on one lol, I think getting off the horse and getting just above grass level couldve given a nice shot as it would bring those hills into the shot more then greyscaled.

Hope you dont mind but I thought a little photoshopping could help bring out the colours a touch, plus a crop so there not so high in the shot.

A good image and a good processing attempt (except for still not corrected holizon line). By the way, your flickr set is not public and I could not look at it.

thank you so much for the replies - I find them very helpful! and thanks for letting me know about the flickr issue :) - unfortunately because I'm limited in software for editing, the image is as it was taken originally so there was no cropping etc. only slight changes to color - thank you for doing the photoshop example - that's exactly the kind of thing I need because then I can visually see the kinds of changes suggested :) I really appreciate that you took the time to do that. Thanks for the feedback!

I tried to update my flickr account to public but it was already set to that...? I edited a different setting so maybe that was the issue? please let me know if anyone still has problems viewing it.

I really like your picture - good timing catching him throwing the rope! I agree with the above critiques - straighten and crop closer. Good luck with your new camera!
