I think I love this photo. It brings back great memories, too. I was shooting at a farmer's market in Maine. It was all local people, everyone knew each other. It was so great. Do you think the aperture is affective? Does the front corner of the basket being unfocused make it less of a good shot?
SS: 1/800
Aperture: 3.5
ISO: 100
Shot with a Canon Rebel XT

Jennyr - These are subjects I love photographing as well. I've still got lots to learn about technique however I do find my eye is drawn to the out of focus corner. My thoughts are that it would perhaps be better if the front of the basket was in focus.

jennyr,

The parts of a photo that are blurred, suggest they are less important (that you did not focus on them as subject). If green beans were really terrific objects and your intention was to show their magnificence, the narrow depth of field works toward forcing viewer's attention there.

A slightly higher, wider framing might better suggest Farmer's Market. You have good color; more of it and more produce might be more effective. The random red and the signs would be less distracting if they were obviously part of a large table display.
