I don't really know the Canon equipment that well, but it doesn't really look like you would gain a lot by making the switch. The 20D is an older camera than the D80. Is there something the 20D can do for you that the D80 doesn't? Does it feel better in your hands or something? I'd suggest keeping the D80 and using your older lenses with it until you can afford the Nikon lenses you want. You can probably get a couple of Nikon lenses for the money you would be putting toward the Canon set.

Why on earth would you want to do that - aren't you talking about something like $5,000 there? Sounds very expensive.

I would have to agree. I'm all about canon, but you can't even buy the 20D used anymore in some places. When I called B+H about 6 months ago, all they had was one used body. Generally, it has to be a pretty big upgrade to justify a switch like that, and you're essentially giving somebody better gear for their used garbage.
That's not to say the 20D wasn't good for it's time. It was excellent. But it's time has passed.

Welcome to DPS, Pishko.
I don't know if you will find a really big difference between the two camera bodies. The 20D has been discontinued, but is a good dSLR that many people still swear by. I can see where you would be attracted to the lenses. The 70-200mm 2.8 is a really nice one. I assume this is used equipment. Is it in good shape? Did you check the prices of each component to see if you were being offered a good deal? It may not be cost effective to switch systems. Have you looked into similar lenses for your Nikon? Perhaps that would be a better deal for you.

thank you for your advices..so I guess it's really better for me to stay on nikon..I just needed some more opinions about that..equipment is used but it's in a good shape but still i can get 2 good nikkor lenses for about 3000$ and that is amount that I have still to pay even if I sell my equipment..tnx again..

I'm not a Nikon user, but we have a lot of people here that are. If you tell us what you like to shoot and how much you'd like to spend, I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice on some really good lenses for your D80.

yeah that would be crazy to switch over for that. Basically you are only switching for the lenses cause the camera body is quite old now and your D80 is a good body. so ask yourself is the lenses worth the ~3000 euro? I dont think so. You can get some really nice lenses for your nikon for that much. Hell my D200 and all my lenses probably cost about that much brand new.

I can spend 2000 euro..so I would like to have one wide angle lense..10 or 14mm..not zoom I think..I don't know about that..becouse I work for http://subsub.si and it's all about clubbing so f2.8 would be great..and also doing some pics for architects..and another one is something like 105mm macro for portraits..
