I finally started getting some results from my IR filter. Composition's not incredibly strong (I was using convenient trash cans instead of a tripod), but I was exalted just to get it that crisp. I'm curious to know what you think of the false color scheme? I tend to like them sort of muted, without the strong blues and reds

i like images with limited coloring as well.....

i admit to not being well versed on ir, but, i really enjoy the results i have seen......my chief concern is the very deep shadowing on your building.....there's quite a bit of interesting detail lost to those shadows......a little post work on them could reveal so much more......

thanks for sharing

Thanks for the feedback! I did a little more tinkering with it to bring out the castle:

Great work in post. I like how you've brought the building out the the shadow.

Composition's not incredibly strong (I was using convenient trash cans instead of a tripod)

It's the good 'ol world-as-your-tripod trick. That's gotten me out of a jam a few times. One of my best was a sign in a parking lot for a handicapped space.

Hehe, nice. I use things like other people's heads and precarious stacks of objects floating around a room, and get weird looks when I contort my body into yoga positions to get at eye level with my camera :)
