I am practicing with shutter priority mode now. I find it hard to stop action and have a well exposed image. Except this one, which there was lots of light and the sky was clear.

Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/640)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 135 mm
Auto ISO (camera chose ISO 160)

Good choice of exposure settings?

I'm a terrible one at reading what other shave down for settings on a shot. I'm pretty good at judging my own so I dont have a great amoutn of wisdom to give you on this one.
I did notice its a bit off focus. Was this hand held? The wings seem to be in focus but the head and tail are not. Perhaps increase the aperature might help.

With the head off focus, perhaps spot metering may have improved the shot? That said, I have difficulty with panning and tend to try to avoid the technique because of it. Keep trying

Thanks for the replies!
windrider86, yes it was hand held. At a shutter speed of 1/640 sec it shouldn't be any problem hand holding the camera and stopping fast actions. No?
I will give it another go with higher aperature value. Thanks.

summerbreezing, I will try spot metering.

Cheers!
