This is a portrait of my Grandson , I used an unsharp mask + 1 layer 13 % his cheek color ,then erased eyes & lips ,teeth 100%,lowered the saturation -28 and bumped the hue up a bit +2 ,erased eyes & lips & teeth again 80%. not sure about it ,what do you think ? any suggestions you have would be great . Dimples

It's a lovely photo of a sweet looking child. I like the composition with his eye at top right third but the colour seems a bit off. Hope yoou don't mind me trying a fix.
Using curves I reduced the blue channel and pumped the red channel.
then, on a new transparent layer I selected the whites of his eyes and teeth. Feathered selection by 8px and filled with white. Erased with a fuzzy brush around the edges and reduced layer opacity until it looked more natural.

he's a cutie, snap....although, it's still a little soft, you did some nice, light post work to aid the sharpness.....
i agree with nathan that it's a bit blue.....and though he accomplished what he set out to do, his edit yellows the lad a little much.....but, he's definitely leading you down the right path.....
thanks for sharing.....

Thanks Nathan , I am only starting out on the portrait post editing and I need all the help I can get , I got a lot of good shots of my boys last night and would like to learn how to do this ,portrait touch up editing , I wanted to give it a soft look but not over done , I knew I had not gotten it right ,+ one of the boys played with the settings on my monitor  that may explain the blue , but here it looks sort of greenish,I have a lot to learn , I should have posted a before & after too ,that may make it easier for you & others to help me understand how to do this .

Thanks peeperita ,I have seen your post work ,it is great , so even if it was a bit blue I will take that as a complamint and, I must be on the right track & will tone down the blue levels , hope I can get my monitor reset to the proper levels . Anyone know how to do that ?
