The wheather here has been great for full moon shots . If only it were warmer . I got this one early this morning ,I am pleased with it but was wondering what I could have done to have made it better , are the settings right , I croped slightly ,is the crop alright ? should it have been tighter ,does this comp work well ?Filename: Untitled-Duplicated-*02m.jpg

I really like this. I'm not sure I would change anything about it. Nice capture!

I really like it too. All my moon shots end up looking like a little bouncy ball in the sky. I really need more of a zoom to get anything like this.

Lovely shot and a great concept but please get a flickr account. Picassaweb's scaleing is awful and makes your moon look octagonal. Had to download the original to see how good this shot really is!

Thanks Nathan for your comment on my photo, sorry you had trouble viewing it on picasa , never heard that their scaling was bad before . I have had picasa for some time now ,I was on dial up and it was the most dial up user friendly , I had tried Flicker at that time & chose picasa due to the dial up & just stayed there .

Sorry I was talking about the way your linked photo (scaled by Picassa) looks to me here. Maybe it's just my browser/monitor/eyes :)

I have a picassa account too, as well as Ipernity, flickr, photobucket and several others I signed up to but rarely use. I find that links from flickr look better than links from any other photo sharing/storing site.

Oh I see Nathan thanks for explaining . I agree Flicker is a very popular site ,the best and I will try it one of these days .

That's a hard shot to get, I love the detail in the moon!

The only suggestion I would have is to reduce color noise in the image. There's some plugins out there to do that (neatimage/noiseware etc...). On camera using a lower iso helps with that but of course then you have to stabilize well and all that. I don't mind luminosity noise too much but color noise bothers me. Still, great job on that big fat moon!

Thanks considerphi , I used the lowest ISO my camera has , but I will try to reduce the color noise ,not sure if my program does that . I do have one program down loaded that will denoise but it removes all of your data, I could do it on a copy ,but not sure then if I could not use it in contests  not sure , do all of these free programs strip the data ,leaving it modified ?

GIMP leaves your EXIF intact and the GreyCstoration plug-in is a very good noise reduction tool.
