Actually, it's Doctors Anonymous. A band with three of my friends in it.
Austin, lead singer + guitar with David, Bass, in background. @ Battle of the Bands #8

hi tom and thanks for sharing this image.....

concert shots are very difficult to capture......the lighting, although it seems bright to our eye at the time is actually less than what our cameras can appreciate....you're metered for what i feel is the most important aspect of the subject....his face.....

but, that same face is out of focus......i noticed that you have an extremely shallow depth of field and the only object that's crisp is the mike.....i know you bumped your iso to accomodate the light, but i think you're going to have to go up even further the next time you shoot to open that depth of field even more.....

by the way, nice post work.....but, for offering here for critique you might want to consider not so wide a framing so that more of your image is visible.....our limits of 600ppi make framing almost a hinderence.....

I feel like there's too much warmth in the highlights, and the white of the person behind your subject is quite distracting. Maybe a straight BW conversion without the warm tones added would work and you could try to apply the PP without including the white shirt so that it doesn't stand out as much.

It might just be the JPEG compression, but did you use the digital zoom on your camera if it has one? If you did, I wouldn't use it, on this picture or on others. It blows up the digital image causing a pixelated look. It's easy to see around the neck of the guitar. I may be wrong though.
