Hello, everyone :)

My first post on this forum, and my first attempt at sports photography...

I tried to use panning to capture the movement, but the racers were too fast to follow, so I opted for a fast shutter. Even at 1/1000 there is a slight blur which I cannot get rid of.

All comments and critiques are welcome?

FujiFilm S9500, aperture f/5.6, shutter 1/1100, ISO 80, focal length 45.8mm(?? - i remember using a longer focal length, but this is what the EXIF says)
(shot at shutter priority mode, contrast corrected in photoshop)

If you have room to in your original, a crop that takes out some more of the top, eliminating the bottoms of the posts and leaving the car less centred would be nice. Overall a nice shot :)

To me, this image gives me the impression that the car is standing still. I would have tried a slower shutter speed and an attempt to follow the car to keep it sharp. This would have hopefully blurred the background enough to make it look like it is moving a little more. Formula One cars are super fast and it's really hard to capture the moment you really want. Great job though!
