just practicing my macro shoots. hope you can give feedback on the composition and overall comments to futher improve my shoots

That is a beautiful shot. I wonder why you wouldn't focus on the stamen of the flower(the yellow pollen part?

I took many macro shot like that, and the I still find it is very hard to freeze the stamen of the flower while keeping flower leaf not so blurred. With this kind of flower I prefer focusing on stamen to flower leaf.

I've come back to this thread/shot several times--I like the composition a lot, although I do get a little distracted by the bit of green in the background, particularly the one in the upper lh area. The shot overall seems a bit too dark, I think. Too bad about the stamen, but I just really like how the flower is sitting in the frame of the picture.
