As I was leaving home today I noticed some bees on the flower in the garden. Risking a sting I managed to came this photo.

Timosilberie,

One good bee photo is sort of a "rite of passage" for photographers, as far as I've seen on DPS. Fast and small, random landings, it does present unique challenges.

You got your DOF and sharp focus, the prime important task. If you were to uncenter the composition and move in (or crop) closer, this could be a trophy shot next time.

Was the sky cloudy when you shot this?

Just thought I'd chime in a little suggestion, don't be overly afraid of the worker bees -unless you're allergic- they're usually very single minded and generally won't sting unless provoked. It's the soldiers that are ... agressive! lol

Jiminy's offers up some good advice on composition, and I'd agree with his comments about the DOF and focus. :)
