I think I had some pretty good success with this one; it was my first real opportunity to play with macro with my new camera. How do you feel about it? I'm struggling ALOT with this technique.

its nice composition and great colors. These two colors are great together in photos.
A bit too tight a crop at the bottom having the flower kiss the edge of the frame.
Also seems a bit soft....was this hand held? I would suggest a tripod and a no wind situation to get the sharpness out of it.
When posting here if you could include the setting such as ISO, Aperture, and shutter speed and is flash fired it would help with critiquing.

Thank you for the feedback. While I was in WI visiting my mom, I was trying to learn about my new camera and how to blur the background (I'm much too new at this) and it took forever to get it to look like I wanted it to look. Unfortunately, I didn't have my tripod up there with me, so yes it was hand held.
I didn't mind the softness to it, but I agree with the kiss at the bottom. It bothered me a little, too, but wanted to see if it bothered anyone else. Guess it did! LOL.

This picture has the EXIF attached to it. Sorry I missed that.

Thanks again for the feedback.

jrtmurph,

Thought I had left a comment about composition, but see now it was a good intention. I had hoped to suggest that for a hanging bloom, portrait framing may give you a much better chance of getting in all the parts that say "flower," including some stem and a little "breathing room." For illustration:
