Default Evaluation of my pet pic...

Hi There,

I am new to this forum, and hope that I am posting this according to the forum rules. I recently purchased a Nikon D3100 and am enjoying using it. I am seeking an over-all critique of this photo, specifically lighting, composition, and post-processing suggestions. (And any other suggestions you may have.)

Thank-you for taking the time to look!

Nice shot, what a great pose.
Really not much to critique, lighting looks good although there is a bit of a hot spot on the forehead.
I love the lighting and the PP you have done with it.
If this was my cat I'd be getting a nice big print made and hanging it on the wall.

I'm also new to photography, but I know what I like. I think it's a very nice photo and I would easily hang it on my wall.

I see what the previous poster means about the hotspot or blown-out white, but I'm not always sure what to do about that. Lots to learn, but it sure is fun.

I like the composition a lot. I think you've used "the rule of thirds" well here.

How did you get kitty to pose for you so nicely?

I'm still curious about this:

She had actually been sleeping in my bed when I began snapping photos. She woke up, looked at me curiously, at that very moment, yawned, and closed her eyes again. LOL. The "rough" life of a cat!

Only gripe for me might be the overblown white on the nose, but its not far off.

I'd like to know what post processing you did on it. I love it!
