Default My First Critique

Hi -

I just joined the forums and thought I would post one of my first pictures up for critique. This is a photo of a sleeping parrot I took at the zoo. Critique away!!!

First of all, welcome to DPS forums, and thanks for posting EXIF data in your first post. You would not believe how many people just ignore the rules...

Anyway... I think a wider framing would look better... it would enable you to capture the whole bird. This way, it's eye/head is out of the intersection of thirds, and the tail is cropped out... But it seams that you have nailed the focus, so there's that

I would like to see a little more detail in the feathers..a little PS exposure adjustment would take care of that. A little more of his head in profile would have been nice also...you couldn't tell him to turn his head a little for a better shot? BTW, Welcome to the group

Thanks for the welcome and the tips!

Glad I nailed the info. I wasn't sure how much I had to include.

What do you mean by PS exposure?

PS=Photoshop...exposure, bump up the levels or curves to give it a little more snap
