Having a hard time with exposure in these situations (natural light) when you have a dark subject and light one with light background. I did alot of work on this get some detail in the bay horse on the left. Thoughts...how does it look...suggestions...

Camera: Nikon D80
Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 105 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: No Flash

Thanks

You have done an excellent job considering the bright background. Do you have Photoshop? If so here is a fun fix for bright skies and over bright scenery. Create a new layer above the picture. Change the blending mode to Soft Light then with a brush and black as the foreground color paint over the bright areas. try it and see! Erase where the black goes over your main subject.
