How, exactly, is it a time suck? I mean, takes two seconds to post something. Not much more than that to run a search. If you call someone (or get a call), you can assess (usually) whether they're cheap or not in the first minute (or so) of talking with them. Not much wasted effort, what, like 5 minutes? Heck, I've been in sales for a looooooong time and have wasted MUCH more time than that on stuff.
