Here to help. Fur and reflective objects are both tough to focus on. Placing something else (like a brick) out of frame the same distance from you, focussing on it and then moving camera to glass and fur, will overcome that.
By the way . . . this is Critique! They just retitled it "Photographing People" to lure unsuspecting innocents in. Really, that's exactly what I'd say to you in Critique, too.
But we aren't pushy, and you can get good views all around here.
