Default Help with rain drops on lens

hi,
This morning i was in a rush to get up the mountain and forgot my lens hood.
I took this picture and it has some rain drops on it.

I've only done cloning and burn/dodging afew times so i'm still learning it and thought this would be a better chance to improve my skill.

Here is the photo

Here is a link to a blown up picture of the area

My question is, would i need to clone a new bit over the drops or can the detail in them be adjusted?

Any advice on technique or links to tutorials would be appreciated (couldn't find any through google about rain drops specifically though plenty on general cloning advice which helped ).

Thanks for reading my thread

Edit:@windrider, cheers for the input but i figured that much myself and was just wondering if I could use the detail that is still there instead and somehow sharpen it and tone it in better?
