I found the lines and structure of the pier very interesting and used some effects to enhance that.

In Paint Shop Pro:

• Created a duplicate of the original image on a new layer.
• Applied noise reduction and the Edges Find All effect to create a line drawing effect.
• Enhanced the contrast of the line drawing layer.
• Added two copies of the original image as layers, one set to Multiply, the other to Overlay. Adjusted the visibility of these two layers to "color" the line drawing.
• Added two texture layers, one set to Screen, the other to Overlay, and adjusted their visibility.
• Cropped the image around the end of the pier and the fishermen.
