It can be hard to get these without one as the slightest shift in where you are in relation to the subject when shooting close up will shift your focal plane. I would also try a shot with flash to see how it looks.

Thank you, Mike. No I don't have a tripod yet hence, the blurry shot. It took me several shots to get it as clear as this. I also tried with the flash but it didn't look good (the web was not captured as well). Is there any thing else I could have done with the manual settings to make this shot better?
