Thats not quite what grey market means. "Grey market" within the camera market generaly means items that have been imported unofficially by a 3rd party rather than the manufacturer. The camera makers will generally not honour the waranty.
Stuff being cheaper in Asia is just "The Market".
When you sold your imported books in the US that was a grey market sale. Its not illegal as long as you pay the relevant taxes but manufacturers don't like it, hence grey. If you import illegally without paying the relevant taxes that is then the black market.
