My logo is a separate file. I don't use actions instead of brushes (CS4). My separate file contains two layers...one with my signature and the other with my printed name on top of it. Both layers have their opacity set in the file. The background is white.

To get my logo into any other file, I open my new file and perform the action. The action opens the separate logo file and copies the two layers into the new file. That way they retain their layer properties.

...at least that is what I think I did. It's been awhile since I set it up.
