This is nothing new. A lot of companies charge different prices for different countries. You'll commonly hear "grey market" when refering to camera equipment...that's just camera gear sold in Asia for cheaper than you can get it in the US.

The worst offender of this is the textbook industry. A textbook here in the US costs about $100-$150 (depending on the book). The same book with the words "not for sale in the US" will sell for $20 in India. Why? Because no one in India will pay $150 for a book.

When I went back and got my MBA a couple years ago, I bought all my books from India and had them shipped here. Saved me a fortune. And the best part is, after I was done with the class I sold them on Amazon for more than I paid for them
