LOVE the overall treatment of the final card design. I actually think the edits I made might be too sunny and bright for the overall this antiqued effect anyhow (after revisiting my edit, I also think I went a bit overboard lightening her face).

I really much prefer the second pose as well (the one in the final card design). Much happier, more playful pose and the tighter crop puts her more front and center. Also, the head room above her that wasn't in the first shot is perfect for the layout of the card's lettering.

I like the antique treatment but wonder if a bit of sepia might work, too. Might be fun to try both.

My last comment is about as nit picky as it gets, but I'll mention it anyway....despite the water, I don't feel like the background screams San Diego. The skyline is sorta non-descript and the pine trees make me think Northern California. I can't help but think that I should be seeing palm trees instead of pine trees. Of course, your friends and family won't analyze the photograph like we all have - they will see a clever idea, cute picture, and really good execution!
