Default Sunday Photos, looking for feeback...

I like this photo. I like the color/ contrast in the trees etc. It was taken with a very low aperture number, as long as I could get at the MM I was at. Im wondering... should I have done this the exact opposite way? I shot it from a tripod, so I could have used a higher apeture and a longer exposure. How would it have looked?
