hi rick i think you are on the right track with this shot ,i am far from being a expert on photography but to me i think the dark coloured van in the background could be the problem as i notice that the metering mode setting in the exif was set for multi would this give you the lack of separation between the face area of the rider and the van in the background .as for composition i think it is good. as for panning i think you have got it right ,the photo gives a distinct feeling of motion.the girl on the back of sends a shudder down my spine though ie light tee shirt and lightweight shoes on a motorcycle notice the rider is fully protected.any way keep up the practicing and trying different camera settings it pays of in the end all the best kym
