I definitely think that the first point is an excellent reminder to people who want to show a larger version of their image.

Flickr says in their TOS that you are to link back to Flickr anyways (I know lots of people use other hosting sites, but I'm just pointing out that it's easy to link to a larger size from there). *Personally* I think it becomes more difficult to have a standard if different rules apply to different areas, but maybe that's just me.
Anyways, as a comparison, I belong to at least one group on Flickr that only allows the "Small" size of the photo to be posted to threads, so there's a whole lot more detail visible at the medium size.
