Yeah ... SONY is a little shy on the SPORTS glass. The Minolta
AF 400mm f/4.5 APO is about the fastest light lens that was made. If you find one of these ... it is worth it. I think
Labellecameras.com (<- click here) may have one around, but I'm not sure.
The alternative, which is turning out to be a rather "hot" lens is the new
SONY 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G SSM lens. It is smaller than the SIGMA 50-500, but pretty much guaranteed to work on your
A350. It is stated to be extremely sharp and acceptably quick on the focus.
Another lens, but has a killer price, can be had at B&H Video. It is a
Minolta 600mm f/4(n) APO HS (<- click here) lens, one of the finest and largest Minolta ever constructed for general use. SONY is also ready to release a new Super Telephoto ... which I believe to be a
500mm f/4 (but they are not saying). I am sure it will be similarly priced as the 600mm f/4. If you do buy one of these lenses, I would suggest trading in the A350 and picking up the
A900 to put on the end of it, so you can milk that baby for all its optically worth.
