I think the one shot for me that made me fall in love with photography, even just a little bit, was this one:

I'd lived in Austin for about 2.5 years at that point, and was amazed at how the city just stopped if the temperatures dropped below 55* F. I wandered outside, wearing flip flops, sweat pants, and a tank top, and just started snapping pictures. This one (which I can see all the things wrong with it now) ended up being our Christmas Card that year. BTW, the light green blob in the upper left corner isn't a blown-out sky - it's the water tower that was behind our apartment complex
Of course, it also doesn't hurt that I have
an exceptionally photogenic daughter.
There have been others over the years, and several recently, that have made me just stop and go "wow," but I think it all started with that one.
