I didn't understand what the pc-sync cord was for. It is for the older flashes that don't use the hot shoe, right?

But the author doesn't discuss much about the performance of it. I know a big problem I read with the V2 cactus was failure to fire. Some reports said 25% or more. I gather from the article the V4 is better but he doesn't address that issue directly (or I need to learn to read).
