I think you did the right thing. Domain names like that are high demand and don't come cheaply, so it's good that you didn't sell it too quickly. If they want it, they can up the ante.
Having a development background myself, I'd offer to help with your... but spare time is fleeting and lately it seems to be taken up with my new camera...lol.
