from past experience, not knowing the rules seemed to have made some people mad.
there's no need to get frustrated at the people who don't know the rules because that just makes them feel almost like they're not welcome because they did something wrong.
if you are going to tell them what they did wrong, do it in a polite manner or just let them figure it out themselves.
so what they post a couple of pictures in the wrong place..?
this website is all about learning
let them learn their mistakes without being criticized

just be patient
I just found this forum last night (late) and started out reading but then responded to a post (What Makes a Great photo- I haven't found the thread this morning, I'm still looking)
I didn't really read rules, eithere, I was excited to find this group, which seemed FRIENDLY (years ago, I tried to find photography and camera groups and found mainly people with a lot of money bragging about their expensive cameras and equipment and ignoring what seemed like "real people" who didn't have as many megapixals as they did)
This morning I've been looking around here more and now finding all the rules, which in a way are kind of intimidating. Not more than one thread per day, not more than 1 picture in a post, except you can put 2 in the first post, etc. I'm not sure I can remember it all, at least to start and now it sounds like I will get "jumped on" if I mess up.
As to the rules about not posting too much, how I found this forum, I read about a contest to win a Nikon D60 camera (I am currently trying to save up for, since my Canon Powershot G6 has problems). The contest (unless the site I read about it on is OLD) said the more one posts here the more enteries in the contest. Of course, once I saw the forum, I realized it wouldn't be hard to get into threads and posting here even without a contest
But, in one place it says the more you post the more enteries into the contest you have, and now I read things like "only one thread per day", and I've totally lost track of how many photos one can or can't post in what threads!
I know... a forum that is good size (like this one seems to be) has to have some rules to keep order. But, I've been on really big groups (for example The Tech Guy, computer help) that didn't seem to have rules like this one.
I don't know if I'm going to get into trouble for posting this, or if it's okay for me to post in the "rules" thread, or maybe this won't even show up.
Last night it seemed like this would be a great, fun, interesting place to share and learn.
Now, it seems like I have to go over it all and write down all the rules and what I can/can't do, how many ofwhat in what, etc. and go over it before I post. To get it straight. Or, I'm gonna get yelled at or unsubbed or what I write not allowed on?

Maybe I have it wrong, and if I hang in here and read and post more I'll get used to it.

But, I too am sorry if I broke or break any of the rules, I didn't realize there were so many of them to remember and work around when I found this group and just "jumped in" last night.

I don't even know if my post ever got on, now that I realize I didn't know all the details about posting...

And, maybe there's a rule about writing too much, posts that are too long, and I've already broken that one, with this?
