Jan is an ancient photographer who started his work in 1951 in soviet run czechoslovakia ... mostly famous for the images depicted on the Beautiful South's "
Welcome to the Beautiful South" album cover (
image) which had to be replaced because Woolworth taught it would entice people to take up smoking (and stick guns in their mouths :P ) ...
it's controversial work and takes a bit of getting used to but it has a quality that is hard to find in most pro photographers ... at least imho ...
