Does anyone have any helpful tips for low-budget marketing?

I thought about doing a simple flyer and special discount for the people in my neighborhood for starters. There are about 50-60 houses, and lots of kids (my specialty). Has anyone had success with this? I charge $125 for a session and thought I'd give them a $25 "Friendly Neighbor" discount to drum up a little business. Thoughts? Other ideas?

My current "marketing" is simply passing out my cards whenever possible and encouraging friends, family and clients to refer people by giving them discounts when they do. Two of my last 6 gigs were friend referrals.

Also, I have a website for my art (also a painter, etc.) and a photoblog. My dedicated photography website is under construction and should be completed before the end of the year.
