I would say the second one is definitely an example of silhouette rather than contre-jour work as you can't see any detail of the egg at all. The first one uses the light to reveal much more (but not all) of the subject; what it is missing is the light source showing in the background (directly or indirectly). Either would fit the present assignment perfectly, because you filtered the light through a bottle.
