I take it you mean the subject to be a person,and both flash units of the same power. Main(Key) light needs to be at 45 degrees to the subject, both horizontally and vertically ( as the sun would be at 3 pm), meter to get a reading at F11. Fill light on opposite side of subject at same angles but either move back or tone down to give F5.6 from that side of the face. this gives the ideal lighting ratio of 3:1 Camera apertureis always set to Key light reading. It also pays to get incident readings from a hand-held flash meter. regards, Ken
