I think you see the SD format appearing in the entry level DSLR's to make it easier for people coming from a point and shoot model. They are also smaller than a CF card which makes them easier to fit into the compact bodies of the entry level models.

I don't think you'll see CF cards die in the higher end bodies for a while, though. A lot of pros/higher level amateurs prefer CF cards for their size (yes larger size) and durability.
