I don't see the same problem on shots taken with the same camera on
Flickr (maybe a hint on one or two but not as much as your camera demonstrates).
It might be worth checking the user community on Flickr, as that might be a good place to get help. Also, how about taking a series of shots of a fairly plain subject, gradually zooming in to illustrate how zoom affects the problem?
