Well... as per my comments way up above and deciding etc... I have decided to stick with Lightroom (just purchased PhotoShop CS3) and imported my 39000 images into lightroom... I originally said that I thought the workflow for Aperture was a little better.. I (having used them for a few days, everynight) am now solidly in the LightRoom boat...but, have used gimp, paint shop pro (from ver 8 to current) and now Photo Shop... and Picasa2... my wife loves picasa... it's a nice basic app that "makes pictures nice"... hmmm
