My only experience with darkroom work was when I was in college. It was the highlight of that part of my life. I spent hours and hours there and never felt the time pass.

I also remember the excitement of getting pictures back from the lab and relishing the moment of discovery. Even though most of them sucked, it was a thrill just to see what my eye and my camera had captured.

Unfortunately, it was also a very expensive hobby for me. I'd always dreamed of having my own darkroom and taking all the pictures that I wanted. I never could, but with the advent of digital photography, my dream came true. I can now take as many pictures as my heart desires and I have a darkroom right on my computer. What more could I ask for?

I feel so lucky to be living at this moment in time. The digital revolution has made me a very happy hobbyist. Heck, it's made me feel like a photographer.

Now, I would go back to film just for fun.
