Introduction
I am J.B. Churchill from Frostburg, MD. I'm pretty new to the forum and to some extent new to digital photography. I took photography and advanced photography in college (early 90's) and got way into it for awhile. I bought my own darkroom enlarger and chemicals and 100' rolls of 35mm film for my Nikon SLR's and used to make these Ortho Lith film B&W Posterizations.
I am also a birder and got into digital by way of wanting to do what we call digiscoping. I have a Leica APO scope and a Nikon Coolpix 4500 (4MP) and an adapter that clamps the camera to the scope eyepiece. I've been using that setup for a year or two now. I swore it took good pics at some point but I've been very disappointed lately. Everything seems to come out blurry. Maybe I'm spoiled now having bought my first digital SLR this past November 07.
I now have the Canon EOS Rebel XTi and am learning as much as I can about using it. I hope to use the camera for bird photography (and everything else that I can photograph).
I hope to be able to contribute some pleasing photographs to DPS and to glean as much learning as possible by way of critique, and from reading the posts of others.
