On camera - I only use preview to check composition, not pixel peeping
When I get back to Lr I...
1. Import into Lr assigning my copyright metadata and use Lr to rename and file by date folder.
2. Use Impromptu Slideshow (Command-Return) and/or Survey (N) to review photos and select for deletion. Slideshow is good for single-shot fullscreen, whilst Survey is good for comparing similar shots.
3. Developing - mostly cropping, exposure and straightening.
4. Metadata, rating etc (not quite as disciplined with this step yet...)
Then I can export and do whatever...
