A DVD capacity is 4.71 GB whereas as CD is only 750-ish GB.
If you have anywhere near a modern computer it
should have a DVD/CD burner rather than CD only. It's hard to find a CD only machine off the shelf these days.
Also, what size files are you giving them? They really don't need to be more than 3000 pixels on the longest side and level 10 JPG. Even if you go with the common misconception that you need 300 DPI for print, you can get an 11x14 with with 4200 pixels. The reality of it is that an 11x14 printed at 200 DPI and one printed at 300 DPI are virtually indistinguishable from one another.
