This was very useful information. And it's inspiring too! I'm been wanting to get into fashion photography, I should try practicing before I get serious into it. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for all of your comments so far. Stefanie, where are you in the UAE? Abu Dhabi? Al Ain? Let me know and perhaps we could stay in touch via email, which is on my website.

Hi!
That was very useful information so thank you for sharing your input!
I was surprised to find out that you reside in DXB. I also live in the UAE. I started getting into fashion photography but I had trouble with a couple of printing houses that would not print my work, so I'm keeping it digital at the moment...:/

Looking forward to read more articles from you! :D

thank you for this. I am a photographer who's looking to get into fashion in the next year or two. Any hint helps at this point! So far I've done product shots professionally and a variety of personal styles, but never any fashion.

Some of the "Before"/"After" shots looks a bit over-photoshopped, no?
Well, that's of course only my humble opinion, there are some great tips in Self Marketing section (never thought about those Z-cards! )
For me, I always like to <b>take an angle, use light and approach that will surprise the viewer</b>, less of model in front of camera approach.
Here is an example - http://www.ilanbresler.com/2008/09/glance.html
