I have been reading here for a while now and thought it would only be fair to register and contribute instead of being a silent reader. So – I am looking forward to be a full part of the community!

Take care!

So I was off work and surfing and found this place and thought I would join up. I don't have much more to say right now except I need to start reading some of the older posts to get up to speed before I can start posting.

Camera Brand/Model Number Review
I have owned my Nikon D50, with a Tamron 28 - 200 lens, for close to one year. I rarely do any very large enlargements, and to date I am very pleased with the camera. There is usually need to computer enhance most shots, but not greatly so. It was going to be this or the d70s, and since the oversized enlargement question was solved, and since I could not afford the D200, it was an easy money decision. I had owned the same (film version) lens, but got the digital lens (which is like an old film 18 - 300mm, and I have enjoyed this as much as the other. The manual is (within reason) easy to understand, and answers most questions. An excellent camera shop (Service Photo)is pleasantly able to handle the rest. Using the camera is generally straight forward, and no unpleasant surprises. I have used the camera for more than several thousand pictures (easy when you don't buy and process film) and would definitely remain with Nikon. If you're doing larger than 11x14 enlargements it may be better for a more current, larger megapixel model, but if not doing that, I would most likely continue to make the same choice.
