Nikon Coolpix P7000 Review

64

Having survived a recent avalanche of maxi-zoom compact digicams, it comes as something of a relief to engage with this more modest but still well-featured camera.

Nikon P7000 Review.jpg

The Nikon Coolpix P7000 wins on a number of points: its moderate dimensions, with a pocketable thickness of about 45mm; another is the 15mm CCD, capturing 10.1 million effective pixels; light weight; optical viewfinder; and there is a built in ND filter to aid longer exposures or to deal with excessively bright conditions by a factor of three f stops.

Maximum image size is 3684×2736 pixels or enough to make a 31x23cm print. Movies? Maximum resolution is 1280x720p at 24 fps.

Cotton Carrier Camera System [REVIEW]

7

The Cotton Carrier Camera System is a unique camera carrying system suitable for the pro and amateur alike. Most of my friends who spotted me wearing it said it looked like a Baby Bjorn for cameras. And, indeed, that is a good description, coming from someone who has worn both.

The heart of the system is a chest harness, typically worn high on the torso. The harness contains a unique keyed slot in the center to accept one of Cotton’s patented adapters, which screw into a camera’s tripod mount. There are two types of adapters and they can be used with quick release plates for easy chest-to-tripod use.

The harness has four adjustment straps and can fit a wide range of torso sizes. It can either …

Canon EOS 60D Review

I have to say there was a lot of murmuring just before this model landed, plus quite a deal of heated expectation.

And, on arrival, the Canon EOS 60D didn’t disappoint.

Canon EOS 60D Features

With a memory card, the lithium ion battery and f3.5/15-85mm review lens tacked on, the final kit weighs 1.3kg, so this gear is not for the dabbler; it’s sufficiently bulky to make getting around a fairly major exercise. With the magnesium alloy bodied EOS 60D over the shoulder, you’re definitely shootin’ — not struttin’!

However, there are some pretty nice attractions to consider with this gear, replacing the EOS 50D and sited between EOS 550D and EOS 7D models.

A Visual tour of Canon’s 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM

21

In this post Dave Powell gives a visual tour of Canon’s 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM.

Useful technical information: filter diameter: 82mm
minimum focusing distance: .28m/.09 ft.
minimum aperture: f/22
Cost: ~$1,500USD (currently close to $1400USD at Amazon)

This is by far one of my favorite lenses.  I find when I am shooting photos of my son I tend to use this lens more often than any other lens.  I love this lens for a couple of reasons; with focusing distance of less than 1 foot you can get right in with your subject and engage them into the picture, with such a wide angle you are able to open up to 16mm allowing you to zone focus and snap some great candid shots.

When I am waiting to cross the street when out for a walk with my son, I like to …
