Time for another weekly poll – this time I’m interested to hear what type of photography you do most.
I’ve nominated 9 of the most popular categories from last time we asked this (2 years ago). I know there are many other types of photography so if you do something not in the list please [...]
Earlier in the week on Twitter I asked those following the DPS twitter account what point and shoot digital camera they’d buy if they had to buy one today as a secondary camera to their DSLR.
Quite a few people responded but one camera was mentioned again and again (by over 25% of those who responded) [...]
Last week we asked readers which eye they look through the viewfinder on their camera with. The poll caused lots of discussion and confirmed what I found when I did an informal survey of my friends. Here’s the results:
See the full discussion on the topic including some of the reasons people gave for this skewing [...]
I found the Nikon D5000 to be a most interesting camera with an impressive feature list. It sits between base-level and top notch models, so it should have wide appeal.
Nikon D5000 Features
The camera uses a DX-sized 12.3 megapixel CMOS sensor and 12-bit analog-to-digital conversion, backed up by Nikon’s EXPEED image processing system. The same sensor [...]

You can see the book listed on Amazon at The Best Camera: Is the One That’s With You and can see the iPhone App here at iTunes.
The concept is simple and pretty obvious [...]
This weekend’s photography challenge is all about PASSION!
Your task is to take a photo on the theme of passion. It could be a photo of something or someone that you’re passionate about. It could be of a moment of passion (lets keep it family friendly :-)) or it come be some kind [...]
Here’s what Digital SLRs, Point and Shoot Digital Cameras, Lenses, Accessories and Books have been bought by DPS readers over the last three months (July-September in 2009) in their shopping at Amazon.
Popular DSLRS
The winner in the popular DSLR class was fairly clear – the Canon EOS Rebel T1i which took over from last survey’s winner [...]
This poll will only be relevant to those of you who actually use the viewfinder of your digital camera (or those who have cameras WITH viewfinders as not all do these days) – but it comes from a conversation I had at a party a couple of weeks back with a group of friends (yes [...]
p>This week’s weekend photography challenge is simple – it all revolves around RED.
I’ve set myself this kind of challenge a number of times over the year – nominate a colour and then go crazy looking for and photographing objects of that colour.
I started doing it after coming into contact with a photographer who had an [...]
