26 Elongated Panoramic Vistas

Sometimes using a format other than the standard proportions works better for an image. One of those times is shooting landscapes of sweeping wide vistas.

A great way to do that is to create a panoramic image. Here are a few photos that take advantage of that format to create stunning results.

Nice ones. You should also have a look at this:

I’m curious how the two with the waves (and moving people) were done. The only way I know to do wide panoramas is to take multiple pictures then stitch them together in Photoshop. Moving waves would be different in every shot/frame and wouldn’t line up. This is why I still classify myself as an amateur, as there is obviously so much to learn.

You are not alone in wondering about this. I’ve pretty much given up on trying to stitch images that include waves. Possibly use an ultrawide angle lens and then crop it to a pano?

  • Aankhen

That’s a good idea. I wouldn’t have thought of it.

  • Bill Rose

This one captured the whole scene
