This info is not for serious photographers. I have been involved with photography for over 40 years. Teaching and making money with my camera. I have a proper camera bag made by LowPro. Not one of those silly sling things. I was covering s story for the paper and I fell backwards on black ice and landed on my back. If my camera was in one of those carry alls my equipment would have to be replaced also my back would have been out of condition for a long time. Since I shoot with Hasselblads I would have a hefty replacement cost. But, since I have always carried a camera bag to hold all my equipment other than a back that was hurting. I picked myself up and covered the story.

Can anyone explain the difference between the Lowepro 200 & 202?

Well I see my choice of Camera Bag made the top of the list, so it does pay to spend sometime looking into what is on offer and what best suits your actual needs, I do a lot of travelling by public transport around the city and out into the country and my Lowepro 200 Sling Shot Bag has made getting that amazing shot a bit easier than a bag I needed to take off to get at my camera causing me to miss that magic shot. So with all decisions relatting to your taking photos you need to spend the time researching what is 1st available and 2nd what would suit your requirements and 3rd make it easier for you all round as well as protect your camera equipment from being damaged.

Any pretty ones to recommend for women? I’m not really into the utilitarian look.

I’m still undecisive between the LowePro 180 AW or the 190 AW to be able to hold all of my gear comfortably.. Either one of those or a remote!

I used the Canon 200 EG for about 3 year. I still have it, but I had to retire it because it started falling apart. I really liked it until the seams on the bottom started coming apart. It was a good size and held my most important items, but it just did not last. I replaced it with an Ape Case ACPRO 1900. It is a far superior backpack. It’s a lbit larger, but it made far better (in Italy) than the Canon (China).
I highly recommend the ACPRO1900.

I need a bag to hold a D300 with a 70-300mm lens and maybe a 50mm lens and SB800 flash but it has to mount on my bicycle handlebars. Anyone got a suggestion?

My conclusion is that I need two bags;a lockable rolling back pack for travelling and an over the neck/shoulder bag for taking photos after arriving at my destination.

I too am typically a one handbag person. I’ve been reluctant to part with my 4-year-old bag even though it’s orange, and nylon, because its external compartments work so well for me. I saw this bag and thought I’d try an on-line purchase again – haven’t been too lucky in past attempts and retail stores never seem to have what I want. I am very happy with this purchase – from the price, to the quality, to the time it took to receive it. The external compartments work very well for me (for keys, cellphone, eyeglasses and sunglasses, eye-drops and lip balm, coupons, etc.) and there’s compartment space for more. There is only one inner compartment (w/zipper) but thats sufficient for me. -
