10 Great Photos From Our Members

Recently I asked readers of DPS to share a link to their best ever shot and said I’d highlight some of them here on the blog – I didn’t quite know what a can of worms I was opening up.

Around 500 images were submitted and today I spent a few hours viewing every single image – I could easily highlight well over half of them. However – I’ve decided to show just 20 of those images that I found myself drawn to. I’ll do it in two posts and the first 10 are below (I’ll do the other 10 in the coming week or so).

Click on each image or author’s name to view larger versions and visit the photo on it’s source site. See below for a little more on why I chose the ones I did.

Thanks to everyone for your shots – both those who had their images selected here and others who did not.

I’ve chosen the above shots not based solely upon technical brilliance (although there are some great on that front) but based on the images that grabbed my attention most out of the 500 or so shots I viewed. They are listed in no particular order of merit but the order that they were submitted.

I’m aware how subjective this is and I’m sure if someone else were to select 20 they’d come up with a very different group (feel free to post your favorites on your own blog). As I was viewing the images and reading why they were your favorites I felt like I was taken on a really privileged journey through the members of DPS members lives – thanks for sharing your shots with me.

If you have a spare hour or so I’d encourage you to visit the comments section on the Share Your Best Shot Ever thread and visit some of the other images submitted – there’s some great shots there!
